Driven by Our People: Reflecting on 2025

We recently came together to celebrate our 2025 End of Year Function — albeit a little later than planned. In many ways, the timing tells its own story. The fact we didn’t get there until three months into 2026 is a reflection of the tempo the business has been operating at, and the sustained effort from our team right across that period.

While delayed, it was important that we still took the time to pause, reflect, and recognise the people who contribute to making Symons Group what it is.

Recognising Performance Across the Business

Our awards are designed to reflect the different ways people contribute — from time on the road, to supporting operations behind the scenes, to strengthening our culture and safety systems.

Driver Performance (Eroad Awards)
We recognised several drivers for their performance within the Eroad system, based on consistent, high-quality driving over a full year. These awards covered different operating environments — from consistent routes to varied loads and roads — as well as a category for standout overall performance. While no system is perfect, Eroad provides a fair and consistent benchmark across the entire driver team.

Distance Travelled
One award acknowledged the driver who covered the greatest distance across the year — a simple but powerful measure of contribution and time on task.

Logistics Operator of the Year
Voted by the driver team, this award highlights the importance of our logistics coordinators. It recognises someone who consistently goes above and beyond to ensure drivers have the right information, equipment, and support to do their job well.

Warehousing Employee of the Year
This award reflects consistency, work ethic, and attitude — recognising someone who approaches every task with integrity and treats both customers and colleagues with respect.

Office Legend
Behind every successful operation is a strong support team. This award, voted by staff, acknowledges someone in the office who is reliable, approachable, and consistently delivers when it matters.

Health & Safety Contribution
A key award for us, this recognises someone who actively contributes to our health and safety systems — not just by following process, but by engaging with it. Reporting, learning, and helping improve how we operate are all part of this. It reflects our belief that the people closest to the work are best placed to make it safer.

Team Player Award
Finally, we recognised someone who embodies what it means to be part of a team — stepping in when needed, owning mistakes, supporting others, and contributing positively to the overall environment.

More Than Just Awards

While the awards are a great way to recognise individual contributions, the bigger picture is about the collective effort. The past year has required a high level of commitment across all parts of the business, and the results reflect that.

Taking the time to acknowledge that — even if it’s a little later than intended — matters.

It reinforces something simple: good work doesn’t go unnoticed, and strong teams are built on consistent effort, not just standout moments.
