Symons Transport is a fast-paced business with a wide variety of work, and we’re looking for a Class 5 tipper driver who’s up for that variety. This isn’t a role for someone who wants to do the same run every day. We want someone who’s happy to jump in wherever they’re needed and get the job done.
You’ll be operating high capacity tip units, carting a mix of products across a range of jobs. We’re specifically looking for tipper experience, but this role isn’t limited to tipping alone. You’ll also be called on to support other areas of the business as needed, so someone comfortable moving between different types of work will do well here. The work includes line haul movements, so you’ll need to be comfortable being away from home a couple of nights a week when required.
Flat deck experience is an additional advantage, but what matters most to us is attitude. We want a team player who takes pride in the job no matter what they’re driving, and who’s easy to work alongside.
The role:
• Operating high capacity tip units, carting a mix of products
• Supporting other areas of the fleet as needed, beyond tipper work alone
• Completing line haul movements, including a couple of nights away from home each week when required
• Flat deck experience an advantage
• Maintaining a clean, well-presented vehicle, with daily inspections and defect reporting
• Driving to a high standard, following NZTA rules and Symons policies and procedures
• Dealing with customers, the public and colleagues politely and professionally
• Following health and safety policies to keep the workplace safe
• Using technology to accurately record work and use of E-Log Books
• Being well presented, a good communicator, and paying attention to detail
This position is only available to applicants currently residing in New Zealand with valid New Zealand work rights.
