This morning, Taranaki turned on one of its finest welcomes — a crisp 3-degree start accompanied by a stunning sunrise and clear views of our maunga. It set the perfect backdrop for an energising and thought-provoking event, “The Next 30 Years: A Conversation with Sam Stubbs.”
We were privileged to be among a diverse group of attendees, all gathering with a shared interest in shaping a better future for Aotearoa. Our sincere thanks to Building Wellness Taranaki for partnering with us to host the event, and to Sam Stubbs for making the journey down at our invitation.
In a time when headlines are often dominated by challenges and uncertainty, it was refreshing to hear Sam’s optimistic perspective. His message was a timely reminder of the opportunities ahead — and of why New Zealand, and Taranaki in particular, remain such incredible places to live, work, and grow.
A key takeaway from the morning was the growing influence of KiwiSaver — and the capital that will become available through it over the coming decades. As Sam noted, it’s up to regions like Taranaki to put forward a compelling case for why that investment should come here. We have the talent, the drive, and the vision — now is the time to ensure we’re part of the conversation.
At Symons Group, we’re proud to support events like this that spark meaningful dialogue and strengthen our community. We remain committed to backing initiatives that promote wellbeing, innovation, and opportunity across our region.
We look forward to the next one.
